If you want a more natural sound using a pick just turn up the bass and turn down the mid and highs a bit. Check out a few of my videos and you will see waht i mean.

neither guitar or bass is rlly harder, it all depends on wat ure playing. and guitar doesnt always get da spotlight. for example, everyone prefers the bass for john the fisherman by primus rather than guitar cuz da bassline is more fun and interesting. plus bass has slap in it which is actually rlly hard to do. guitar is hard to but again it depends on wat song ure playing

Is either really harder than the other? It's mainly dependant on how hard you push yourself. If you learn songs that don't test and advance your playing skill, you could say "Yeah, learning this was easy." An instrument is only as difficult as you make it; I play 6-string bass, and push myself as much as I can to get better. I make bass playing hard for myself because I want to improve. Arguing which instrument is more difficult is an argument that will never have a definite answer.

that's from a personal perspective but if you're looking at the instruments objectively then you could come up with an answer. for example we could all agree that learning a guitar (bass or electric or whatever) is harder than learning to play the recorder.
